Andrew Purcell
Photographer Andrew Purcell grew up in sunny Laguna Beach, CA then spent a little time in the rain of Oregon and decided the beach was better (we agree). But, after spending the past 8 years in Santa Barbara, he recently retired his flip-flops and relocated to New York City – Lucky us! (Soon he’ll discover that we wear flip-flops here, too, with just a little more effort in keeping the feet clean).
With a passion for travel, food, and fun, he finds beauty in light and simplicity – and in a glass of wine or anything that includes bacon! He gathers inspiration from his peers and from the study of photographers past and present. While working with photographers such as Victoria Pearson, Mikkel Vang, Luca Travato, and Coral Von Zumwalt, to name a few, Andrew channeled his love of light into his own ethereal style.
His loves include: antique cameras, a great cup of coffee, the beach (us too!), new cultures and experiences, his parents (awwwwww!), and time spent with friends, but don’t ask him to kill a spider. He hates that!
Andrew lives in the city with his food stylist wife and is thankful for every opportunity to take pictures for a living! He is a Virgo/Libra cusp – just enough intelligent analysis mixed with a balanced diplomacy, which means he’ll probably be a prop stylist in his next life. We like!
