Inspired by Van Gogh

Our very talented hair and makeup artist Ananda Khan recently worked with photographer Jim Lafferty on this gorgeous fashion & beauty project. After returning from Amsterdam and visiting the Van Gogh museums, Jim and Ananda were inspired to use the studio lights like brush strokes. You can see some variation in the way it was used in the beauty shots, versus the black and white shots on grey seamless. Ananda's intention was to show the brushstrokes in the makeup itself. It's a departure from lots of the carefully blended and seamless natural beauty work she often does. The model, Jelena Ducassi, is Serbian and from Muse.
