Southern Cooking for Summer
For whatever reason, the summertime always makes me in the mood for some good old fashioned, Southern cooking. Maybe it's the summer heat, spending time outdoors, or what, but I always find myself with a hankering for a taste of the South. Fortunately for me, Garden and Gun has provided some excellent solutions to these cravings, with their feature story on cast iron recipes in the new August/September issue. Food styled by Cynthia Groseclose and photographed by Peter Frank Edwards, each recipe requires a cast iron skillet and yields some tasty results. I will be cooking up some bacon jam immediately! Yum!
